FAQs
What’s the shipping policy?
Getting you the freshest coffee available is our priority. We know that a great cup of coffee starts with fresh beans. We also know that you want your order to come in as soon as possible. Orders will typically ship within three business days of being placed, as we roast our coffees Mondays and Wednesdays, and ship through USPS Monday through Friday. These carriers observe most national holidays, which may affect shipping times. Please note that due to COVID-19, there may be shipping delays. We appreciate your patience.
How much is shipping?
You will receive free priority shipping on all orders over $50. Flat rate shipping will apply for orders under $50 or expedited shipping. We do not ship internationally at this time.
What’s the return policy?
We cannot return or exchange coffee for any reason due to the perishable nature of the product and current COVID-19 guidelines. However, we want you to be satisfied with your purchase. If you’re not happy for any reason, reach out to our customer service team at hello@manchestercoffeeco.com with your name and order number.
We gladly accept returns or exchanges on unworn/unused items within 30 days of the original purchase. For all returns or exchanges, email your order number, name, the reason for return, items to be returned to hello@manchestercoffeeco.com. We will contact you with information on how your return will be processed. Unfortunately, we cannot refund the price of shipping.
Where are you located?
We are located in the Distillery District of Lexington, Kentucky. Our cafe address is 903 Manchester Street Lexington, KY 40508 and our headquarters is located at 3229 Summit Square Place St#230, Lexington, KY 40509.
How does Manchester Coffee Co. roast the coffee?
Our coffees are micro-roasted, specifically to origin at our facility in Lexington, Kentucky. You can generally consider our coffees to be a ‘medium’ roast.
What's the difference between whole bean, medium grind, and coarse grind?
For every bag of coffee, you have the option of whole bean, medium grind, or coarse grind. Whole bean is perfect for those who have a coffee grinder or use a variety of brewing methods. Medium grind is ideal for any paper filter brewing method like standard coffee machines, pour overs, or an Aeropress. Coarse grind is best for metal or reusable filter options like a French Press. If you have questions about which option is best for you, reach out to our team hello@manchestercoffeeco.com.
Does Manchester Coffee Co. add flavoring to the coffees?
Never! We list tasting notes on each package to help describe the way each specific coffee tastes. Similar to wine, coffee will taste different based on the region/elevation it was grown, the way it was processed and how we’ve roasted it. Don’t be alarmed if you can’t taste the notes we’re tasting. Enjoying coffee is different for everyone.
Where should I store my coffee?
The best way to store coffee is in whole bean form (not ground) in an airtight container. Our bags do a fairly good job of locking in freshness so you can simply store your bag of coffee in a cool, dark place. We don’t recommend storing coffee in a fridge or freezer as this introduces the beans to moisture and could lead to degradation of the coffee. Additionally, coffee easily absorbs the flavors of things around it so be mindful not to store it near odorous foods or jars.
How long does the coffee last?
For optimal freshness, we roast our coffee and ship to customers within 3 days. Generally speaking, our coffee will have peak freshness if consumed within 30 days from the roast date and has a maximum shelf life of 90 days from the roast date.
Why can’t I order the same coffee year-round?
Like other produce, coffee is seasonal so our offerings reflect this. You will see coffees from different regions as they are available to us. Our house blend, Charge, will be offered year-round. If you need help finding the best coffee for you, reach out to our customer service team at hello@manchestercoffeeco.com
Are Manchester Coffee fair trade?
We work to form close relationships with our coffee partners and pay them excellent rates for their premium work. You can feel good about where Manchester Coffee is coming from, though we are not officially Fair Trade.
Is Manchester Coffee genetically modified?
Generally speaking, these coffees have not been genetically modified, however, we do not have a “Certified Non-GMO” status.
Is Manchester Coffee gluten-free?
Manchester Coffee Co. is not “Certified Gluten-Free.” Coffee on its own is gluten-free. While our facility does not have any gluten involved during the roasting and packing process, we can’t guarantee that at some point during the life of the coffee bean it wasn’t exposed to gluten.
Is Manchester Coffee organic?
Not all of our coffees are Certified Organic. We work to provide a quality product that has been produced by smaller producers for traceability. The organic certification process is very expensive for small farms, so many do not undergo certification even if they are in fact organic.
